According to L’Equipe, Châteaudun is making a strong push to convince PSG to build their new stadium there. However, the site is quite far from Paris. Too far?
Just like Disneyland, will we see a PSG-themed amusement park spring up? According to L’Equipe, Châteaudun is eager to host the club’s new stadium. The town, located 135 km from Paris, still dreams of welcoming PSG’s future stadium.
Fabien Verdier, the mayor of Châteaudun, has initiated intense lobbying efforts directed at PSG’s management as well as Arctos, the American shareholder who recently acquired a 6.25% stake in the club.
The town has sent a 26-page document titled « Projet PSG » to present their proposal. Inside, they highlight the benefits that could entice the capital club, including the low cost of land and the possibility of creating a PSG Land around the stadium.

Despite these efforts, the project faces significant hurdles due to its distance from Paris. PSG ideally wants to stay at the Parc des Princes or very close to Paris, in Saint-Cloud. Other candidates such as Gonesse, Aulnay-sous-Bois, and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines are also being considered. However, PSG still dreams of buying the Parc des Princes and may wait until 2026 if Paris elects a new mayor more favorable to selling the venue.
