During the summer of 2021, Lionel Messi hadn’t foreseen that he would leave FC Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.
In a press conference held on Thursday with Inter Miami, Lionel Messi reiterated what many had thought: he didn’t want to play for PSG. This comes just a few weeks after the conclusion of his mixed two-year journey in the French capital.
« As I said at the time, my move to Paris was not something I wished for. I didn’t want to leave Barcelona. It happened overnight, » he stated in Miami.
« I had to get used to a completely different place from where I had lived my whole life, » he added. « Both in terms of the city and in terms of sports. It was tough, but it’s the opposite of what’s happening to me today. »
