Marquinhos spoke to the media Sunday night after PSG’s 4-1 victory over Lyon, taking the opportunity to discuss his style as captain.
Marquinhos is known for being a quiet captain. During matches, it’s Mbappé who communicates with the referee, and this seems to suit the Brazilian. Elected captain by his teammates (twice) this summer, the defender shared his thoughts on his captaincy.
« The armband? It has a special meaning. When your teammates choose you as the team’s captain, it means a lot, » said the Brazilian.
« Everything I do, I don’t do it for the cameras. Everything I do, it’s for my teammates, it’s for the club, to lead it in the right direction. We make mistakes like everyone else, but we don’t hide; we keep moving forward, working together for the club. »
