Will Marquinhos remain the captain of PSG in a matter of hours? Luis Enrique has shed light on the matter.
In an announcement on Friday, the Parisian coach revealed that the players have participated in a vote to choose their captain and vice-captains for the upcoming season.
« There is a vote either yesterday or today. As soon as I have the names, I won’t have any problem giving them to you, » he stated during a press conference. « It’s very simple, I don’t choose the captain, the players do. They gathered this week. There will be four captains, and it’s something defined by the players, not by the coach. I want it to be their captain, not my captain. »
Depending on the players’ vote, Marquinhos could potentially lose his captaincy. However, it’s likely that he will still be part of the list of four vice-captains, barring any significant surprises.
