João Neves’ transfer saga is progressing rapidly in recent hours: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has made an official bid for the young midfielder.
According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG has launched their formal offer after reaching an agreement on personal terms with João Neves. The Parisian club’s proposal comes after extensive negotiations.
Benfica’s president, Rui Costa, has confirmed the existence of an offer for Neves, though he did not specify PSG. « Yes, there is an offer for João. We are discussing the amount, » Rui Costa stated. However, he also clarified, « I never said João would leave only for €120 million. »
Foot Mercato reports that PSG’s bid stands at €70 million. While Benfica is looking for a higher amount, all parties agree that the deal is likely to go through. In private, Jorge Mendes, the agent, is reportedly very confident about the finalization of this transfer.
