Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reacted to Neymar’s remarks regarding his last season at PSG, while Luis Enrique, the PSG coach, has also responded.
In an interview given to Globo in June but recently published, Neymar criticized his last season at PSG, stating, « I was very happy for Messi, for his season, even though he experienced it all. He went to paradise with Argentina, he experienced hell in Paris, we both experienced hell. » These comments have prompted reactions from PSG and Luis Enrique.
PSG responded to the criticism by stating in L’Équipe, « We make no comment; we have a certain elegance. Interestingly, both players wanted to stay at PSG. » This statement suggests that despite the difficulties, Neymar and Messi had intentions to remain at PSG.
Luis Enrique, who worked with Neymar this summer, also reacted by saying, « Neymar’s comments about the ‘hell’ experienced by him and Messi last year? These are personal experiences; I don’t want to get into that. I can speak about my experience. I am absolutely delighted, and I feel like I’m leading a rather unique team, with a club that trusts me 100%. »
These statements highlight the tensions and challenges that world-renowned players can face when playing for top-level clubs like PSG, despite sporting successes.
