Manuel Ugarte, PSG’s midfielder, is heavily linked with a move to Manchester United. However, Luis Enrique… wants to keep the player.
Manuel Ugarte, bought for €60 million last summer by PSG, is attracting attention across Europe. Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund are all interested.
Journalist Diego Munoz from ESPN Uruguay reports that these three clubs cannot meet PSG’s asking price for the former Sporting Portugal player. However, Manchester United has the financial capability. The deal is reportedly very close, with Ugarte now « close » to joining Old Trafford, according to ESPN Uruguay. Only a comprehensive agreement between the player and both clubs remains.
However, Le 10 Sport offers a completely different perspective. « The capital club is keen to keep Manuel Ugarte during the summer transfer window. Luis Enrique counts on his player and wants to give him a second chance next season. The idea is to retain Ugarte, but it is unclear if the management will change their stance if a substantial offer comes in. Moreover, Manchester United is not in a position to propose at least €60 million as the Red Devils face financial constraints. »
This indicates a potential stalemate where PSG’s internal plans and external offers might clash, making Ugarte’s future uncertain.
