In the early stages of the summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) had considered signing Marcus Thuram, the 25-year-old forward from Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany.
However, Thuram ultimately chose to join Inter Milan in Italy, and The Parisian newspaper reveals why the deal fell through.
According to The Parisian, the failed transfer can be partly attributed to the fact that Thuram could not secure any guarantees regarding his playing time at PSG. Neither Luis Campos nor Luis Enrique, who were responsible for recruitment at the club, had made any promises to new recruits regarding their role in the team.
Furthermore, Marcus Thuram wanted to play as a central striker, which was not certain at PSG. These uncertainties led him to opt for Inter Milan instead.
